Over the past week I stayed in Leavenworth. This was my second trip to the quaint time. This time I stayed longer than last. There was a huge juxtaposition in decor since the last time I came.
It is known as one of the main Christmas towns in the US.
The last time I went there were Christmas lights everywhere and snow. It felt just like the Hallmark holiday movies.
This time it was beautiful but a bit different. There were fall decorations at every corner and Oktoberfest was in full swing. During the week it was peaceful as not that many people were in town. I took long walks to admire the fall foliage that we don’t really get in Texas. The tall orange maple trees and bright yellow leaves that glistened when the sun hit them felt surreal. I’ve never experienced a true fall season until this week.
As beautiful as it was I would still highly recommend going when its winter and there’s snow that covers the ground, dusts the pine trees, and makes the rooftops look like they’re covered in blankets of white.
There’s good food and good wine along the whole main strip and the town isn’t big so you won’t find yourself getting lost. I recommend the gingerbread bakery shop year round along with icicle brewing co for some of the best surprise views with upstairs seats indoors overlooking the town with a Mountain View during the cold winter. There’s also an alpine roller coaster you can ride for just $20 a pop.

Until next time,
KLV
